Payology ("Payology," "we," "us," or "our") provides payment processing referral services and, through our partnership with Payactiv, Earned Wage Access ("EWA") services to employers and their employees. Payology operates as a registered Independent Sales Organization ("ISO") / referral partner for payment processing, working alongside sponsoring banks, card networks, and processing partners to deliver these services. Application and underwriting information submitted as part of a payment processing application, which may include business financials, banking details, and ownership information — this information is collected on behalf of, and may be shared directly with, our sponsoring banks and processing partners for underwriting and risk review. Earned Wage Access information: when an employer client enables EWA through Payology's partnership with Payactiv, employee information (such as hours worked, earnings, and payroll data) is processed by Payactiv under Payactiv's own privacy practices in order to calculate and deliver wage advances — Payology's role is limited to referring and supporting the employer relationship, and day-to-day EWA account data is managed by Payactiv. Communications, including records of calls, emails, and messages you send us.
We use the information we collect to evaluate and process payment processing applications and referrals; facilitate Earned Wage Access enrollment between employer clients and Payactiv; provide customer support and respond to inquiries; maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services; comply with legal, regulatory, and card network obligations, including know-your-customer and anti-fraud requirements; and send administrative communications and, where permitted, marketing communications, which you may opt out of at any time.
We share information with sponsoring banks, acquiring banks, card networks, and payment processing partners, as necessary to underwrite and support a merchant's payment processing account; with Payactiv, for employers and employees participating in Earned Wage Access; with service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, and customer support tools, under confidentiality obligations; with regulators or other parties when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, users, or the public; and with a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information in our possession, and we require our processing and EWA partners to maintain appropriate safeguards, including PCI DSS compliance where applicable to payment card data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
